Today's Bible reading is from Isaiah 11: 1 - 10. This passage of scripture talks about the "shoot from the stump of Jesse" who is, of course, Jesus.
I love how God chooses to reveal his plan of redemption through the scriptures. Years before the birth of Jesus, the people knew that they had hope, the Messiah was coming.
Now that Jesus has come as a baby in a manger, we can look forward to his second coming when he will bring a new heaven and a new earth.
Come, Lord Jesus!
