Isn't it ironic...

Isn't it ironic that during the rainiest April in the history of the earth, I've been experiencing a bit of a "dry spell"? Trust me, the irony isn't lost on me. But it has allowed me an unprecedented opportunity to spend really great time with my Heavenly Father.
You see, when I feel all dried up, there really is no other place to turn but to the One who can refresh me by his very Presence. When things are going well, it's so easy to pull away from God and rely too much on my own strength.
But, in the midst of feeling poured out and dry as a desert; I echo the words of Peter, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." (John 6:68 NIV)
God is our help, strength, comfort, peace and ultimately the source of everything. Looking elsewhere for these things is foolish at best. It has taken this dry time to remind me how lovely it is just to spend time with the One who created me for His glory.
